Marc Schiler

Professor Schiler teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental controls, lighting, and thesis preparation. He has been the director of the Chase L. Leavitt Graduate Program in Building Science off and on for decades. He started teaching at USC in 1982, has been consulting and teaching in Southern California ever since, and is an international expert on lighting and glare. He has authored, co-authored, or edited six books on topics in environmental controls, published over 50 papers, consulted on over 50 buildings and is over 50, himself. His primary achievement, however, is having raised three children and taught over 3,000 students, more or less successfully.
