Nicholas Dembsey is a Professor of Fire Protection Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. His teaching, scholarship and outreach interests involve in part design of fire safe modern construction materials and building assemblies. He investigates fire safe behaviors in the context of performance based design via testing, experiments and modeling (fire and pyrolysis). He is an Editorial Board member of the journal Fire and Materials.
