Doerfler created the curricula for two new graduate programs at Thomas Jefferson University, and has participated and guided interdisciplinary research in facade design and technology, lighting and high performance buildings. These programs build on the strengths of the nexus learning approach, creating collaborative, innovative and sustainable learning opportunities. He has substantial international practice experience in North America and Australia to complement his academic experience.
